Tawanna Rucker is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at TruExpansion Foundation, an organization that provides youth empowerment programs and vocational training in business office services to teens. She has successfully developed strategic partnerships with organizations to engage youth through higher education, arts, and community involvement.
Tawanna began her career in 1992 as a professional model. She appeared in ads for Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, JCPenney, Self Magazine among many more advertisement and media. She appeared in ads for L’Oreal, Mary Kay Cosmetics and opened shows for designers such as the legendary Carolina Herrera. Tawanna has lived in many cities in the United States and has lived and worked aboard. Later, she acquired her license and certifications in health and wellness. Her professional experience includes working for International luxury, five-star management companies such as the Ritz-Carlton and The Four Seasons Resort and Club.
In 2009, Tawanna began her yoga teacher training to study the many benefits of the wellness practice. Ms. Rucker has received certifications related to her broad variety of interest. She has developed a curriculum that consists of 6-key elements to teach personal development, life-skills, and wellness to teenagers.
Tawanna Rucker is a certified coach and licensed wellness specialist, trained in an intensive corporate leadership program. She utilizes coaching strategies and combines them with her specialized knowledge to develop programs to help clients create an atmosphere for success.
She is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children (CASA). As an advocate, she speaks out for the best interest of abused and neglected children in court.
Ms. Rucker studied Executive Nonprofit Leadership at Southern Methodist University and the Center for Nonprofit Management. In addition, Tawanna works in new homes sales for one of the nation’s top real estate builders. An Oklahoma native, she is the mother of one; both reside in Dallas, TX.
